Position Summary:

The High School Phase Head will be responsible for leading and managing Clarion School's High School, overseeing both the American curriculum and the future implementation of the IB curriculum track. This role will drive the development and integration of innovative, student-centered practices, and ensure academic excellence in alignment with Clarion School’s progressive educational philosophy. The Phase Head will collaborate with staff, parents, and the wider school community to foster an inclusive and supportive environment that prepares students for success in higher education and beyond.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Academic Leadership:

 - Develop and implement the American curriculum for High School, ensuring a seamless transition for the later addition of the IB track.

 - Oversee curriculum alignment with Clarion’s mission and values, emphasizing progressive education, inquiry-based learning, and the development of critical thinking skills.

 - Lead curriculum development to ensure rigorous academic standards while maintaining flexibility to meet individual student needs.

 

Student Development and Support:

 - Establish and monitor systems to support the social, emotional, and academic development of High School students.

 - Foster a culture of innovation and inclusivity, emphasizing the development of global citizenship, leadership skills, and social responsibility.

 

Faculty Development and Management:

 - Lead a team of teachers and staff, fostering mentorship and collaboration to maintain high teaching standards.

 - Conduct regular evaluations and provide feedback to teachers, aligning with Clarion’s goals and accreditation requirements.

 - Develop PLCs and workshops focused on progressive pedagogy, inquiry-based learning, and cross-curricular collaboration.

 

Community Engagement:

 - Act as a liaison between the High School and the wider school community, including parents, to communicate goals, progress, and any changes in the curriculum.

 - Build partnerships with external organizations and universities to enhance students' academic and career opportunities.

 - Organize parent and community events to promote the High School’s programs and achievements, fostering a strong sense of community and school spirit.

 

-Administration and Compliance:

 - Oversee the scheduling, assessment, and reporting processes to ensure compliance and a data-informed culture.

 - Prepare and manage the High School’s budget, ensuring resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities.

 - Work closely with the Principal to support school-wide initiatives and provide input on policies and procedures that affect the High School.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in educational leadership, preferably in a high school setting offering both American and IB curriculums.

- Strong understanding of progressive educational practices and experience in inquiry-based and student-centered learning.

- Familiarity with the IB program requirements and experience with curriculum development and implementation.

- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate with diverse teams of educators and stakeholders.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school environment.

 

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with accreditation processes for both American and IB curriculums.

- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative educational programs and initiatives.
