Job overview
Higher Level Learning Support Assistant
Key Stage 2 through to Post-16
Term Time Only
Are you an experienced HLTA wishing to develop your career in a school that’s prepared to do things differently?
At Focus School Linton Park Campus, we take a forward-looking and pioneering approach to education. While academic excellence has and always will be a priority, we challenge outdated educational practices with our Self-Directed Learning programme. We place the focus on how students are learning, rather than merely on what is being taught. Our cutting edge learning environment, the embeddedness of technology and ultimately our students are a testament to this.
We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, Higher Level Learning Support Assistant who understands how children learn. You will be adept at coaching our students to see and lead through challenges in their learning, so they make the best possible progress each and every lesson. Tailoring your approach to each child, they will be both supported and challenged by your input.
The successful candidate will:
· Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification
· Be relentlessly positive, with a ‘can do’ attitude
· Understand that coaching a student is more powerful than telling them
· Have a diverse set of skills which will enable you to be flexible working in the classroom, our learning centres and with vocational courses
· Be able to work creatively and strategically in an ‘all-through’ school
· Be an innovative and reflective practitioner who is keen to learn
· Committed to improving the life chances of every child
