Job overview

HR Business Partner - Wokingham, Didcot & Banbury

Are you a HR Professional that enjoys Employee Relations casework and wants to make a real difference to the schools in our Multi-Academy Trust?

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and dynamic HR Business Partner. This role will have a significant impact for schools by addressing HR casework, as well as contributing to the implementation of an ambitious People strategy.

Your opportunity

Your role will be to lead employee relations cases across your schools, supporting leaders with practical advice and guidance in line with current legislation.

You will approach your work with professionalism, demonstrating skill and confidence in addressing and challenging team cultures and behaviours to ensure they align with the Trust’s values.

You will work as part of a highly skilled team of HR Business Partners, reporting to the Director of Employee Relations. You will collaborate with other operational partners and the broader People team, with opportunities to engage in project work.

You will support Schools in Region A which spans from Oxfordshire (Didcot/Banbury) to Berkshire (Wokingham).

This is a full-time all year school-based position. Whilst visits to schools within Region A will be required to support some elements of casework, using Teams and Zoom will be integral to the role. We have satellite offices at Pine Ridge School and Aureus Secondary School from which you can work on a more regular basis.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone:

  • Who has a minimum of a level 5 CIPD qualification with significant ER experience, preferably with a background in the education sector.
  • Who can provide excellent HR knowledge and support, bringing challenge to decision making where appropriate
  • Who demonstrates unquestionable integrity and discretion to ensure that the Trust’s HR processes are managed to the highest standard
  • That is proactive in keeping professional HR knowledge up to date and has a commitment to personal and professional development
  • Who is a confident communicator, able to present our people strategy to our Headteachers and other key stakeholders
  • Who can be flexible, have a calm approach and a ‘can-do’ attitude, and is comfortable working at pace with multiple priorities
  • Who interacts positively with colleagues, is solutions focused, pragmatic in their approach, and seeks to understand the needs of each of our school

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Kelly Timpson - details of which can be found in the Job Description

Welcome to our wonderful school!

Some of our children will spend just a short time here as they transfer from other schools; for many others, eight years at Floreat Montague Park will be the longest single period of their school education. In that time, they may have arrived as toddlers and will leave well prepared for their secondary school, both academically and as a responsible person with an appetite for the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.

My colleagues and the children understand the importance of learning and we are ambitious for our children to reach their full potential so that they are well placed to achieve in their next school. In many ways, their primary education at Floreat Montague Park is a foundation for the independence they will need at 11 years of age. Our aim is to nurture the whole child so we will work to develop their spiritual, artistic and musical as well as academic potential.

We are a school that is mindful of the natural development of children; whilst we are clear we have a duty to prepare children for the time they leave at age 11, we recognise it is important to embrace and enjoy everything at its right time. Children have a natural compulsion to find out and investigate for themselves; our curriculum will meet this need by providing a practical, hands-on approach to learning.

There is no such thing as other people's children.

Our relationship with families is strong and parents come into school every day to work with our team. We see this as a partnership and we are committed to this principle. I would like to invite you to come and meet us here at Floreat Montague Park to see all of this for yourself. You are likely to be struck by the calmness and sense of purpose that pervades all that we do.

I look forward to meeting you.
