The HR Manager and Compliance plays a critical role in ensuring Holme Grange School meets and observes the wide variety of guidelines and regulations set by government agencies and the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). The aim is to ensure the School is compliant with relevant legislation at all times.
The core of the role is the year-round provision of a comprehensive, confidential, and accurate HR and Safer Recruiting service, as well as advising the Head and Senior Management Team on all aspects of regulatory compliance and other legal issues relating to the management of the school. The post is essential in ensuring the School is prepared for regulatory inspections by the ISI and other relevant bodies.
The HR Manager and Compliance keeps both the Head and Deputy Head (Staff and Operations) fully informed about all aspects of legislation and their impact on the operation of the School, while maintaining knowledge of current employment law. They are a member of the Senior Leadership Team and will provide a practical, solution-focused HR function, working with the Head and Deputy Head (Staff and Operations) to design and deliver an HR strategy that supports the School's Strategic Plan. Additionally, the postholder will understand and ensure full implementation of the School's policies and procedures relating to child protection, compliance, health and safety, disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, maternity and other systems. The successful candidate will establish priorities and work independently without direct supervision on routine matters.
CIPD qualified (L5 Minimum) with a proven track record of leading the HR function.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of HR/administrative experience, ideally within a school or similar environment. This role will require a high level of attention to detail and discretion, the ability to be a team player is essential.
