We are looking to fill the following position starting August 2025:

Instructional Coach/Vice Principal

This is a full-time leadership role focused on supporting faculty, developing innovative instructional strategies, and contributing to the overall growth and excellence of our school.

Your Challenge and Responsibilities

As an Instructional Coach/Vice Principal, you will:

  • Lead the Implementation of Innovative Pedagogy: Guide teachers in delivering differentiated and engaging instruction, including flipped classrooms, blended learning, collaborative projects, and self-regulated learning strategies.
  • Support Professional Development: Design and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching to help faculty excel in innovative teaching practices, particularly in STEM and IB methodologies.
  • Mentor and Guide Faculty: Act as a resource for teachers, providing feedback and strategies to enhance classroom experiences and student outcomes.
  • Strengthen Leadership Capacity: Collaborate with the leadership team to establish school policies, oversee academic programs, and cultivate a thriving learning environment.
  • Build a Community of Excellence: Promote personalized learning, student agency, and equity, ensuring that all students—especially our majority scholarship recipients—reach their full potential.
  • Foster a Culture of Innovation: Work with staff and students to introduce forward-thinking educational practices that embrace technology, global citizenship, and real-world problem-solving.
  • Organize and Oversee Programs: Facilitate selected Saturday enrichment labs and leadership activities for students, as well as co-curricular programs that align with the school’s vision.

Qualifications and Expectations

  • A teaching or leadership certification and experience in education (preferably within the IB Middle Years Programme or Diploma Programme).
  • A proven track record of instructional leadership and a deep understanding of effective teaching practices.
  • Enthusiasm for professional development and the ability to inspire others to adopt innovative methods.
  • Passionate support for holistic STEM education and an eagerness to advance the Ntare Louisenlund Pedagogy.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) as the primary language of instruction.

About Ntare Louisenlund School

Ntare Louisenlund School (Rwanda) aims to be among the best schools in Africa. With the Rwanda plus-STEM programme, it will bring together the best talents from Rwanda in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology and act as a hub for training innovation and entrepreneurship and for shaping the future. The 60-hectare campus located in Rwanda’s Bugesera District, a forty-five minute drive from Kigali, can accommodate up to 1000 boarding students. The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, modern classrooms and learning studios, IT rooms, a creative design workshop, and impressive, newly constructed sports facilities. These include soccer and handball pitches, basketball a court, tennis court, a swimming pool, and an Olympic-sized track

The aim of Ntare Louisenlund School is to provide students with an outstanding international education, allowing them to apply for scholarships at the best universities worldwide. Half of the student body will be selected through a preliminary assessment and financed by appropriate scholarships (plus-STEM stream). The other half of the student body will be made up of students from Africa who wish to complete the IB Diploma as a school-leaving certificate. Their families will finance the schooling themselves (IB stream). Ntare Louisenlund School is an IB Candidate School* offering the IB Middle Years Programme and planning to offer the Diploma Programme in the future.

We are excited about this opportunity to co-create the school of the future in Rwanda. School operations will commence with up to 80 grade 7 students in the social entrepreneurial international stream and 80 grade 7 students in the global +STEM stream in September 2024. From the 2029/30 school year onwards, the school will operate at full capacity with approximately 1000 students.
