Are you passionate about shaping the future of education by fostering personalized learning, promoting student agency, and equipping learners with twenty-first-century skills? If so, we invite you to apply!
We are looking to fill the following position starting August 2025:
Teacher of the Mathematics Programme
This is a full-time role as part of our faculty delivering the IB MYP curriculum.
At Ntare Louisenlund, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive, forward-thinking environment that values creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity. Our picturesque, state-of-the-art campus provides the ideal setting for both educators and students to thrive.
Note: IB MYP certification is preferred but not required; training opportunities will be provided.
What It Means to Be a Plus-STEM School:
- Innovative Teaching: As a Plus-STEM school, you are expected to employ creative, student-centered teaching methodologies that go beyond traditional instruction, encouraging inquiry, critical thinking, and hands-on problem-solving. Lessons should empower students to explore, question, and innovate.
- Laboratory Engagement: Facilitate advanced hands-on lab experiences that provide practical applications of scientific concepts, fostering curiosity and a deeper understanding of STEM subjects.
- Saturday Enrichment: Participate in selected Saturday sessions to deepen students’ learning. These sessions focus on advanced STEM concepts, collaborative projects, and career exploration, ensuring students are fully prepared for their future.
- STEM Career Focus: Actively inspire and guide students toward STEM careers by integrating real-world applications, industry insights, and future opportunities into the curriculum. Teachers should expose students to cutting-edge advancements in STEM fields.
By joining our team, you will help us uphold the vision of being a premier Plus-STEM school, empowering students with the skills, knowledge, and inspiration to excel in STEM careers and beyond. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about innovation, collaboration, and creating transformative learning experiences.
Your Challenge and Responsibilities
You will have the opportunity to guide young people in developing independent personalities, cultivating their talents, and strengthening their intellectual curiosity. With small courses of up to 20 students, you will implement differentiated teaching and learning approaches that meet diverse needs.
Our students, over 80% of whom are scholarship recipients based on national exams, are eager and ready to learn. This means that your role as a guide, mentor, and facilitator is essential. We emphasize flipped classrooms, blended learning environments, collaborative real-world projects, and fostering self-regulation in student learning, rather than traditional direct teaching methods.
We are committed to integrating technology into learning, ensuring our students are prepared for the future. Your innovative spirit, creativity, and fresh ideas will play a critical role in shaping the Ntare Louisenlund Pedagogy for the 21st century.
Qualifications and Expectations:
- You have a teacher certification and/or experience working as a teacher (preferably in the IB Middle Years Programme or Diploma Programme).
- You are passionate about your subject area and enthusiastic about working together with young people.
- You are interested in shaping the Ntare Louisenlund Pedagogy for the 21st century.
- You are willing to familiarize yourself with the school’s unique pedagogical concept, participate in professional development workshops, and contribute to the school development process.
- You are passionate about and/or supportive of the school’s focus on excellence in holistic STEM education.
- You speak and write English fluently and are competent in using English as a language of instruction (exceptions include foreign language courses).
We offer:
- A fully equipped campus with excellent facilities set in the breathtaking natural beauty of Bugesera, Rwanda.
- Optional rent-free campus housing available on a first-come, first-served basis (offered as a taxable benefit).
- An exceptional in-house professional development program, including opportunities for IB professional development travel.
- Small learning groups that foster personalized learning and student success.
- An extensive and diverse co-curricular program, with opportunities to participate in or lead unique experiences for students.
- Collaboration with an experienced, internationally recognized partner school in Germany (Stiftung Louisenlund).

- A dedicated, team-oriented faculty committed to excellence and innovation.
- An attractive compensation package based on experience, including a staff housing allowance. All salaries are paid in RWF.
