Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Estonian Language Teacher to join our team, teaching both the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) within the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework. This role offers a unique opportunity to foster language skills, cultural understanding, and critical thinking in students, helping them develop a strong foundation in Estonian language and culture. The successful candidate will create engaging, inquiry-based lessons that inspire students to become effective communicators and global citizens.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Delivery:
- Design and deliver engaging Estonian language lessons aligned with the IB PYP and MYP frameworks, focusing on developing students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Foster an appreciation of Estonian literature, culture, and heritage, enhancing students' understanding of local and global contexts.
2. Language Skill Development:
- Support students in building a strong foundation in Estonian grammar, vocabulary, and language conventions.
- Implement inquiry-based learning techniques that encourage critical thinking, communication, and creativity in language use.
3. Assessment and Feedback:
- Develop formative and summative assessments that align with IB standards, providing constructive feedback to help students grow as language learners.
- Track and report on student progress, identifying individual strengths and areas for improvement.
4. Cultural Engagement:
- Integrate Estonian cultural traditions, history, and contemporary topics into lessons to deepen students’ cultural awareness.
- Organize and support cultural events, projects, and presentations that celebrate Estonian heritage and promote bilingual and multilingual skills.
5. Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate language studies into transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary units of inquiry.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in IB education and language instruction.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Estonian Language, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification and/or qualifications.
- Experience teaching Estonian language at the primary and/or middle school levels.

- Passion for teaching language and culture, with a dedication to fostering a love for learning Estonian in students of diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
