An exciting opportunity has arisen within our vibrant school for an enthusiastic and inspirational Inclusion Lead/SENDCO who is committed to inclusion and has the desire to maintain the highest standards of provision for SEND students. You will be supporting students with their academic, personal, and social development. The successful applicant will take responsibility for SEND learning throughout both primary and secondary sections, including a satellite Early Years setting 6 km from the main site. We are looking for someone who will be able to effectively lead and manage the SEND team and work closely with parents to ensure they are kept involved and informed of their child’s progress.

The Post:
We are seeking:
- a fully qualified graduate teacher with experience of acting as Inclusion Lead/SENDCO or holds the National Award for SENDCO
- wide experience of working with pupils with a range of special educational needs
- excellent understanding of the SEND Code of Practice

*Note that this role differs from a Class Teacher/Subject Teacher position.
Experience:
- Should have a minimum of three years teaching experience, following the acquisition of a Bachelor of Education degree/PGCE/PGDE/QTS
- Should have experience in the UK or overseas in a British curriculum school
- Must have previous experience as a whole school (Primary & Secondary) SEN Coordinator, or have the experience to take this next step in your career
- Be able to coordinate and support education plans for students with SEN across Primary and Secondary
- ASN/ SEN Learning Support Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
- Should have the ability to use SEN Assessment tools and writing related student reports
- Ability to liaise with parents of children with Special Educational Needs
- Advising fellow teachers on SEND best practices and strategies
- Be a reflective, flexible practitioner with the ability to think creatively and take risks
- Experience of managing Therapists and Counsellors
- A working knowledge of Google Apps and the confidence to work with IT in the classroom

Qualifications:
- B.Ed. / PGCE / QTS in the relevant subject area
- Inclusion Lead/SENDCO qualifications like The National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO) and the ASN/ SEN Learning Support Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) are an added advantage
