International Community Schools we are hiring for Inclusion Manager a senior leadership position responsible for driving the school’s vision of inclusive education. This role involves ensuring that students of all abilities, including those with special educational needs (SEN) and gifted and talented students (G&T), are provided with an accessible, nurturing, and equitable learning environment. The Manager of Inclusion will oversee the development of individualized education plans (IEPs), manage the school’s inclusion team, and collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create a holistic and inclusive school culture.
1. Inclusive Education Leadership:
Lead the development and implementation of the school’s inclusion policy in alignment with ADEK (Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge) guidelines and international best practices.
Set and uphold high standards for inclusion, ensuring students with a wide range of learning, emotional, physical, and behavioral needs are supported.
Establish and lead an Inclusion Support Team, providing strategic direction and operational leadership in the school’s inclusion programs.
Create a shared vision for inclusion across the school, fostering an inclusive ethos among staff, students, and the school community.
2. Assessment and Identification of Needs:
Oversee the process of identifying students with SEN, including conducting formal and informal assessments, in coordination with teachers and specialists.
Manage the development and regular review of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN, ensuring that these plans are effectively implemented and regularly updated.
Coordinate with educational psychologists, therapists, and other external specialists to diagnose and provide support for students with specific learning difficulties (SLD), physical disabilities, or behavioral challenges.
3. Intervention and Support Planning:
Design and implement effective intervention strategies that cater to the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring appropriate accommodations and modifications are made in the curriculum.
Monitor the effectiveness of interventions and provide ongoing feedback to teachers to ensure student progress.
Develop specific strategies for differentiating instruction in the classroom, equipping teachers with the necessary tools to deliver personalized learning experiences.
4. Teacher Support and Professional Development:
Lead professional development programs for teachers and support staff to enhance their understanding of inclusive practices, differentiation techniques, and behavior management.
Work closely with teachers in all subject areas to ensure they are implementing inclusive practices that cater to the needs of all students.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to classroom teachers, special education teachers, and teaching assistants on best practices in inclusion.
5. Parental and Community Engagement:
Develop strong partnerships with parents, involving them actively in the educational process of their children.
Organize regular meetings and workshops for parents to provide guidance on supporting their children with SEN or other additional needs at home.
Build relationships with external agencies, including health professionals, local community groups, and government bodies, to enhance the support network available to students.
6. Compliance and Regulatory Responsibilities:
Ensure that the school’s inclusion policies are fully compliant with the ADEK Inclusion Framework and other relevant UAE regulations.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all students receiving inclusion support, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to school policy and UAE law.
Prepare detailed reports on the progress of inclusion initiatives, presenting to the school leadership team, ADEK inspectors, and other stakeholders as required.
7. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
Continuously monitor student progress and the effectiveness of inclusive practices through data analysis, classroom observations, and teacher feedback.
Utilize data to make informed decisions and adjust support plans as necessary to improve student outcomes.
Prepare and present reports for the senior leadership team and parents, showcasing student progress, intervention outcomes, and areas for further development.
