The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality and efficacy of veterinary medicines in the UK within the statutory framework of various EC Directives and Regulations, and the Veterinary Medicines Regulations.

Here is an exciting opportunity to work and study to acquire a Level 3 apprenticeship as an  IT Infrastructure Technician with the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD). You will be based at the VMD’s office in New Haw, Addlestone, Surrey.

We are an Executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and are responsible for ensuring the safety, quality and efficacy of veterinary medicines in the UK. By helping to ensure that our IT systems run reliably, smoothly and effectively, you will make an important contribution to the VMD’s objective to protect animal health, public health and the environment.

For this exciting and interesting opportunity, you must have a keen interest in the practical application of IT systems, a natural hunger to learn and have GCSEs in Mathematics and English at Grades A-C or 9-4.

We’ll deliver your training through a blended approach of face-to-face workshops, virtual tuition and e-learning, plus regular on-site meetings with a Talent Coach. We will pay your travel costs to attend study workshops in central London.

Throughout the programme you will receive 20% of your paid contracted hours to focus on your apprenticeship training.
