This is an exceptional opportunity to make an impact on Royal Grammar School Guildford's educational offering on the international stage.

With schools in Dubai, Qatar, Oman and China, we have ambitious plans to extend our international offering. We are now looking for an individual with a track record of educational leadership to join our professional and committed team.

The International Education Director will bring dedicated, high quality educational expertise to our international team and will oversee all educational aspects of the business in relation to existing and potential schools. The role will be based in Guildford with a requirement to travel throughout the year.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the main link between RGS Guildford International and its international schools for educational matters.
  • Ensuring the schools follow and live up to our educational ethos and standards.
  • Supporting the marketing of RGS Guildford International and the development of new schools in line with our strategic objectives.
  • Initiating, organising and overseeing collaboration between the schools, including student exchanges and summer camps.
  • Developing relationships with the Heads and key academic personnel at our international schools.
  • Advising on the educational offer in each school.
  • Presenting at conferences and writing articles to promote our business.
  • Supporting schools in achieving and maintaining accreditation from recognised bodies such as CIS, COBIS, BOS or BSME.
  • Proposing and then operating within an agreed budget for the role.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience in a similar role or be working in a senior leadership capacity within a school. You will be highly organised and self-motivated with an understanding of international schools, their context, challenges and opportunities.

Located in the historic town of Guildford, the Royal Grammar School, dating back to 1509, is a leading independent day school for boys aged 11 – 18. Consistently regarded as one of the top three boys’ schools in the country, the RGS combines academic excellence with a passionate commitment to pastoral care and co-curricular opportunity in a friendly, supportive community of approximately 950 students and 120 teaching staff.
