What is the purpose of this role?

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the International Education Marketing Specialist at Epsom College Malaysia, working jointly with the Head of Marketing, is responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing strategies to promote and enhance the reputation of the school in the region. This role focuses on cultivating and expanding the institution's Regional presence, attracting international students, and building strong partnerships with educational agents and institutions throughout Asia.

The International Education Marketing Specialist works closely with the Admissions team, School Faculty, and Senior Management to create and deliver targeted marketing campaigns that align with the school's values and objectives. By leveraging market research, industry trends, and digital platforms, the specialist will drive student recruitment efforts and contribute to the overall growth and success of Epsom College Malaysia as a leading international boarding school.


What is the scope of work? 

Your role involves the following: 

1. Global Outreach:

 - Conduct marketing tours in targeted countries to promote educational programs and attract prospective students.

 - Represent the institution at international events, fairs, and conferences to establish and strengthen partnerships.

2. Relationship Building:

 - Forge relationships with key stakeholders, including educational consultants, government agencies, and partner institutions, to enhance the institution's global network.

3. Market Research:

 - Conduct market research to understand cultural nuances, educational trends, and competitor landscapes in different regions, providing insights to shape marketing strategies.

4. Collaboration with Local Teams:

 - Collaborate with local marketing teams and admissions offices to tailor marketing materials and campaigns for specific cultural and regional preferences.

5. Brand Ambassadorship:

 - Act as a brand ambassador for the institution, conveying its values, strengths, and unique offerings to diverse international audiences.

6. Admissions Support:

 - Work closely with admissions teams to facilitate the enrollment process for international students, providing guidance on application procedures and requirements.

7. Event Planning:

 - Organize and execute international recruitment events, workshops, and information sessions to engage with prospective students and their families.

8. Travel Logistics:

 - Manage travel logistics, including itinerary planning, visa arrangements, and coordination of international marketing campaigns.

9. Crisis Management:

 - Address challenges related to international marketing, such as cultural misunderstandings or unexpected market shifts, with a solutions-oriented approach.

10. Reporting and Analysis:

  - Provide regular reports on the effectiveness of international marketing efforts, including attendance at events, lead generation, and conversion rates.

11. Compliance:

  - Stay informed about international education regulations and compliance standards, ensuring all marketing activities align with legal requirements.


Who are we looking for? 

The candidate must have a deep understanding of K to 12 education, strong presentation skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. An ideal candidate would be a senior teacher or leader in an international or UK public school looking for a functional career change within the education space. The desire and ability for significant travel away from home is essential.

Epsom College in Malaysia is a new boarding and day school set on a 50-acre site at Bandar Enstek, south of Kuala Lumpur. Seen as a major development in the field of education in Malaysia, Epsom is co-educational and follows an adapted English National Curriculum, leading to IGCSE and A-Level. The medium of teaching throughout is English. The Senior School, with a small Prep School on site for day pupils 3 - 10 years old, opened in September 2014. Our Prep School lessons run Monday to Friday, and Senior School lessons are Monday to Saturday lunchtime. Our boarding programme runs 7 days per week.

Based on the home model, Epsom College in Malaysia combines academic excellence with a first class British boarding experience. The emphasis is on creating a family environment within a structured school routine, with a traditional House system fostering a strong feeling of belonging and community.

With a long history of educating Malaysian and other international students in England, our branch in Kuala Lumpur is a natural extension designed to further the College's international reputation and increase the number of pupils who can benefit from an Epsom College education. The College has strong links with many influential Malaysian figures, not least Tan Sri Dr Tony Fernandes C.B.E., himself a former pupil of Epsom College, who has been appointed Chairman of the Governors of the school with Mr Matthew Brown as its current Headmaster.

In addition to full boarding, weekly boarding from Year 7, which was pioneered by Epsom College in the UK, is an option. This is popular with parents who want a British boarding lifestyle for their children without having to travel long distances.

The impressive campus, being developed on a green-field site, comprises ultra-modern hi-tech, environmentally-friendly buildings, with specialised facilities for teaching and learning, boarding, music, drama, art/DT and sport. The whole campus supports a wi-fi network to maximise access to the internet for learning and independent research.

The Prep School at Bandar Enstek is a small community of children between 3-10 years share a purpose-built school with facilities and spaces especially designed for their learning and pastoral needs. It possesses a carefully designed playground, with a sandpit, gardens, climbing area and ball games. In addition there are opportunities to access the Senior School's impressive facilities.
