Reporting to: Laura Dobbs – Head of Primary and Principal
Responsible for: Islamic curriculum coordination across the Primary School
Main purpose
The Islamic Co-ordinator will:
- Support the development of the Islamic curriculum
- Support the development of teaching and learning in Islamic across the Primary school in line with the school policy
- Formulate the aims and objectives of the subject
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in Islamic teaching and learning
- Ensure that curriculum coverage, continuity and progression allows for all children to progress, including SEND, G and T and EAL students
- Support the evaluation of the quality of teaching and learning within the subject and use this to identify effective practice and areas for improvement; taking action to further improve the quality of teaching and learning
- Lead CPD sessions for staff and coach staff where needed
- Participate in or lead parent workshops
- Maintain the ethos of the school in all that is undertaken both inside and outside of the classroom
- Analyse and interpret relevant school data, to inform policies and department/school SEF writing
- Organise and promote Islamic events during the school year

Qualifications and training
- Qualified teacher status (Essential)
- Undergraduate Degree (Essential)
- Professional development in preparation for a leadership role (Essential)
Experience
- Teaching experience of at least 2 years (Essential)
- Involvement in school self-evaluation and development planning (Desirable - KHDA or ADEK Framework Experience Preferred)
- Line management experience (Preferred).
Skills and knowledge
- Understanding of high-quality teaching, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improve (Essential)
- Strong understanding of Islamic values (Essential)
- Ability to teach students from Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and 2 (Desirable)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills (Essential)
- Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others (Essential)
- Ability to build effective working relationships(Essential)
- Ability to lead successful departments or multi-disciplinary staff (Essential)
