Salary: Point 21 of the Sixth Form Colleges’ Support Staff pay spine, which is currently £32,921 per annum.  (Pay award pending)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our Trust Central IT Services team, providing a reliable, robust and secure IT infrastructure supporting the learning and administrative needs of the Trust and the individual academies. 

The purpose of this role is to work with the Trust Deputy Head of IT Services on projects requiring specialist knowledge, excellent analytical and problem solving abilities. You will be required to implement systems to improve the management and security of the Trust IT networks and end user environments, working towards and maintaining Cyber Essentials certification as appropriate.

The main focus of the role is implementing and maintaining systems and technologies such as (but not limited to): Windows Server, Azure, Intune, VMWare, Hyper-V, Windows OS deployments, application packaging and deployment, remote access, Google Workspace, network firewalls and switches.

Additionally, providing expert technical skills to support the team in supporting the users of Trust IT systems.

To succeed in the role, you will:

●       have a good knowledge of Active Directory, Azure, Intune and other network-based technologies;

●       have a good knowledge of IT Security principles and practices;

●       have experience of utilising vulnerability management tools;

●       have an understanding of security certification requirements such as Cyber Essentials

Plus, ISO 27001, or other specific standards;

●       engage with new systems/services and a desire to develop your professional skills;

●       be self motivated, a quick learner and able to work unsupervised;

●       be able to demonstrate technical knowledge and problem-solving skills;

●       be keen and able to innovate and convince others of the need for change;

●       be organised and be able to deliver projects to deadlines. 

Although you will be based at the Oldham Sixth Form College, you will be required to work at all of the Trust’s Oldham based academies as required.

The Pinnacle Learning Trust was established in 2017 as a result of the long-standing, strong and effective relationship between The Hathershaw College and Oldham Sixth Form College. Our Trust invests in each member of staff, offering them professional development opportunities, including an extensive in-house professional development offer for both teachers and support staff, in areas such as: Leadership, Teaching and Learning, Mental Health First Aid and role specific training.  In addition, our staff have the opportunity to contribute to the professional development of others through designation as Evidence Leads in Education for the Research School; delivery of school-to-school support; support for trainee teachers and involvement with our work as a strategic partner with the East Manchester Teaching School Hub and our Science Learning Partnership Hub.
