At Haut-Lac International Bilingual School, we rely on IT systems to power our students’ education.

We’re seeking an experienced IT manager, who has the organisational and technological skills to make us even more efficient. This person will analyse current systems and assets, recommend and implement solutions and upgrades, and provide training. The ideal candidate is an experienced manager with extensive knowledge of network maintenance and the advanced IT know-how to keep us on the cutting edge of digital education. The IT manager will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our operations and a long-term impact on our overall growth.

Role Objectives:

  • Lead school-wide IT projects and solutions
  • Maintain the IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software and hardware
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware and software
  • Track and maintain the hardware and software inventory

Responsibilities:

  • Run regular network and data security checks
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve and update software and systems
  • Develop and implement IT and Information Security policies and organisational best practices
  • Design staff training programmes and workshops
  • Conduct regular system audits
  • Run and share regular operation system reports with senior staff
  • Oversee and determine timeframes for major IT projects, including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
  • Manage and report on the allocated IT budget
  • Provide direction for IT team members
  • Identify opportunities for team training and skills advancement
  • Maintain student and staff workstations, MacOS, iPadOS and Windows


IT Manager job qualifications and requirements:

The Haut-Lac IT Manager must have five or more years of experience in IT management, ideally in the education sector, and a qualification or degree in one of the following fields:

  • Information Technology
  • Science or Computer Science
  • Management

B1 level or higher in spoken and written French is required.

Project management certification (Agile or waterfall) is an asset.

The Primary school campus and extensive whole-school sport facilities were completed in 2014. It is situated close to the secondary school in St-Légier, and comprises classrooms, specialist art and music rooms, a library, a uniform shop, a teaching kitchen and numerous offices. Modern facilities at the secondary campus include specialist IT rooms and Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology linked to a laser cutter and plastic former in the tech lab. Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz is located in the canton of Vaud, and has a total population of approximately 5,000.
