We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Support Technician to join our team at Itchen College at an exciting time of growth within the department. Reporting directly to the Head of IT, we’re looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and who understands what it takes to deliver top-quality solutions for our end-users. The IT Support Technician plays an important role in providing second and third-line support and in ensuring that end-users receive the highest levels of customer service coupled with application-focused technical knowledge.
The work of the IT team is varied and diverse; no day is ever the same! The College is a vibrant and bustling place to work and we are therefore seeking someone who is flexible in their outlook with a real ‘can-do’ approach to their work. This role will be a great fit if you:
- Can demonstrate in-depth knowledge/competency in a range of key areas including hardware and software administration, network management and data integration solutions through demonstrable, comprehensive experience in IT support services/consultancy or through relevant industry qualifications.
- Have a keen eye for detail and can get stuck in.
- Have proficient problem-solving skills: can troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Can help identify organisational need and input into project management.
- Are confident in implementing and maintaining IT security measures that help to drive best practice.
- Are proactive and dedicated to delivering high standards of technical assistance and support in the work environment.
- Are committed, resilient and physically capable of meeting the demands of the role.
- Can work independently and with initiative, but also enjoys working as part of a team.
- Can demonstrate excellent communication skills across all levels.
