ROLE SUMMARY:

Inspired Group is seeking to appoint an experienced teacher of Italian Language and Literature Teacher (MYP & DP experience essential) to join a well-established department in one of our International schools in Italy. We are ideally looking for someone who can join us immediately. Applicants must have experience of teaching both IB MYP and DP. The successful applicant will be a dynamic teacher with experience of enabling pupils to achieve their potential. We are looking for experience, enthusiasm and a passion for teaching, to inspire our students with a love of learning. They need to be a team player that can work within a busy and high profile department, supporting not only the high level of Italian study within the IB curriculum but also supporting national students with preparation for the terza Media examinations. This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of our secondary school, to a successful and growing department, in addition to teaching in the IB Diploma and Middle years programme.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting a positive and strong school community through the implementation of the school’s Mission and values, the IS Siena Positive Behaviour Policy, and the pastoral programme.
  • Planning and delivering the curriculum for:
  • IBDP Italian Language and Literature
  • MYP Italian Language and Literature
  • Terza media Italian Language and Literature
  • Standardising internal assessments with colleagues.
  • Supervising Extended Essays and Personal Projects as necessary.
  • Working closely with the DP Coordinator and MYP Coordinator to ensure grade banks are accurate and provide key data to drive student success.
  • Possibly acting as a homeroom tutor.
  • Contributing to school development through active participation in staff professional development.
  • Offering an Extra-Curricular activity that supports or extends the current portfolio of offerings.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • To possess a university degree in a related scientific subject and an appropriate teaching qualification.
  • To have recent experience successfully teaching the subject within the 11-19 age range.
  • To be enthusiastic and passionate, demonstrating a love of literature and the ability to convey this effectively to students of all abilities.
  • Understanding of CAT4 and data tracking to improve challenge and progress is desirable.
  • Experience with external and internal IB assessment and Extended Essay is essential.
  • A firm understanding of the importance of personalised learning in an inclusive environment.
  • A willingness to commit to a longer-term position.
