Job overview

We are seeking an organised and proactive Admissions Coordinator to support the admissions for our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programme for the East, South & London region. Your support will be crucial to our leadership team and other regional colleagues, who are responsible for the planning, execution, and administration of our Initial Teacher Education provision.

About Us

The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) is a school-led development trust that spotlights the best ways to develop the nation’s educators – from initial teacher training through to system leadership. This is an exciting time to join the team and be part of a fast-growing, developing organisation.

Due to our rapid growth, we are looking for an organised and proactive ITE Admissions Coordinator to support with the coordination of our admissions, which involves managing expressions of interest, processing applications and managing all aspects of interview coordination and administration.

We are currently in start-up mode, so your support will be crucial to our leadership team and other regional colleagues, who are responsible for the planning, execution, and administration of our Initial Teacher Education provision.

About The Role

To succeed, you’ll be a seasoned administrator with the skills and experience to hit the ground running. Naturally, you’ll be adept in the use of MS Office software packages, such as Word, Excel and Outlook. You’ll also have the people skills to communicate sensitively with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.

Ideally, you’ll have some understanding of, or interest in, teacher training and the education sector. It would also be helpful if you’ve had exposure to events management and education programme planning – particularly within a national organisation with multiple regional offices.

This is a flexible, hybrid role with a mixture of days in the office and at home, and you’ll need to be available in person, depending on organisation priorities. The office is based in Harris Institute, Peckham.

The National Institute of Teaching is committed to creating a diverse environment and ensuring that all qualified applicants receive equal consideration for employment. We are committed to fair and inclusive recruitment practices and are open to job shares, secondments, part-time, and flexible working schedules.

We think a wide range of different work and educational experiences could support you to be successful in this role. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, communities and industries and are committed to employing a team that has diverse skills, experiences and abilities.

Key Benefits

  • Flexible & hybrid working
  • At least 27 days’ holiday a year (plus 8 bank holidays)
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Comprehensive employee benefits, including enhanced parental leave

Learning That Changes Lives

A teacher’s expertise makes a greater difference to a pupil’s success than any other factor in a school. The National Institute of Teaching exists to nurture the talents of teachers and leaders at every step of their career, whatever the context, wherever they are in the country.

About the National Institute of Teaching

The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) is run by the School-Led Development Trust, a charity, founded by four of the country’s leading school trusts: the Harris Federation, Outwood Grange Academies Trust, Oasis Community Learning and Star Academies, and supported by the Department for Education.

The Institute will boost the quality of teacher and leader development nationally by generating and interpreting research, applying the insights to the design and delivery of high-quality teacher and school leader development programmes, and sharing it all with the sector.

We are building a school-led movement, strengthening relationships and collaboration across the system.
