Job overview

Our focus at The Wycombe Grange is to equip our students with the necessary tools to successfully reintegrate into mainstream education. We have designed a 12-week programme which focuses on the needs of each individual student, by means of a blend of timetabled lessons and targeted interventions, assisting each individual to access the help and education that enables them to succeed.

Working on a model which is similar to primary education, students remain in the same class throughout their 12-week placement and are taught in small groups (usually 6 students) by a teacher and a teaching assistant, with the assistance of some subject specialists. Our curriculum focuses on Reading, English, Maths, PE and Art and includes some additional enrichment including trips, Cooking, PSHE, Humanities and Outdoor Education. This is an exciting time to join our team at The Wycombe Grange as the whole team is working together to further shape this provision.

Our ideal Class Teacher might already have experience in this kind of setting, or you might have worked with children and young people with behavioural difficulties in mainstream or other settings. We welcome applications from primary-trained teachers or from secondary teachers who are versatile enough to offer a range of subjects. Either way, you will be

excited to see what can be achieved in a different kind of setting. Our approach at Aspire is to find the right people, with the right attitude and personality, and we will train you to work with the rest of our staff to ensure all students are supported and able to achieve.

We are looking for someone who is creative and resilient, ready to get stuck into everything, and able to pull staff together as a team. You will need to be someone who is happy to do whatever it takes to ensure that all students make great progress academically as well as with their SEN or SEMH difficulties.
