Taaleem is looking for a qualified, enthusiastic, and passionate KG Grade Leader to join one of our Dubai campus.


Primary Purpose of Job:  

A Grade Leader, main duty is to provide outstanding pastoral care for all students in a designated grade group, ensuring that all students in the designated grade are fully supported, their needs are met and that they succeed academically. 

  • To lead a team of Homeroom Teachers to ensure that the quality of pastoral care for the designated grade is outstanding. 
  • To ensure that the Homeroom and Moral Education programme is of a high quality and supports the wellbeing, development, and academic success of the students in the designated grade 
  • To manage any delegated budgets effectively and responsibly.  
  • To ensure high standards of behaviour and attendance for the designated grade, including reporting on standards, patterns and trends of behaviour and attendance. 
  • To be proactive in identifying behaviour and attendance concerns and implement effective strategies to address the identified concerns and raise standards of attendance and behaviour in the designated grade 
  • To ensure that all relevant school policies and procedures are adhered to and applied consistently across the designated grade. 
  • To have a genuine interest in the students in the designated grade and develop positive relationships with them to best support their individual needs. 
  • To maintain regular contact with parents, updating them on grade and student specific concerns and celebrations. 
  • To meet with parents, where appropriate, to ensure students in the designated year group needs are met and concerns are dealt with effectively. 
  • To ensure that student support plans such as are up to date and are effective in providing students with the best support for their individual needs. 
  • To attend and lead meetings and forums in line with the responsibilities such as case conferences, Individual Needs Panels, Homeroom teacher meetings and pastoral team meetings. 
  • To coordinate academic interventions for students in the designated grade 
  • To liaise with relevant staff regarding students of concern 
  • To attend and lead school events relating to the students in the designated year group, such as Information Days, PTCs, new student induction events. 
  • To contribute to the assessment and reporting program, in line with school policy 
  • To assist management of requests for student leave 
  • To contribute to, and manage, assembly and school supervision duty rotas as requested.  
  • To keep up-to-date with current developments concerning pastoral care of students in order to ensure best practice and high quality pastoral provision. 
  • To contribute to the whole school professional development and lecture programme as appropriate. 

 

Teaching Responsibilities: 

  • Representing areas of knowledge, understanding and skills, in all their richness, to students taught 
  • Engaging and motivating students to achieve at levels that are beyond their expectations and previous limits 
  • Using excellent subject knowledge, pedagogic and interpersonal skills to enthuse students and enable students to enjoy learning 
  • Planning lessons that take full account of students’ individual learning needs, as well as their individual learning styles, preferences, and capabilities 
  • Encouraging and enabling all students to become effective, confident, and independent life-long learners 
  • Assess, record and report on the development, progress, and attainment of the students in her/his classes 
  • Guide students to set targets to improve on their previous ‘best’ and give regular feedback to students to support next steps in learning 
  • Maintaining excellent professional relationships with colleagues by making a wider professional contribution to the continuing improvement of the school 
  • Planning and delivery of a programme of learning opportunities and activities to enrich and enhance the taught curriculum 
  • Communicate open and professionally with parents on a regular basis about the attainment and progress of their child 
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality when speaking to parents and external parties 
  • Model good practice of academic honesty 
  • Contribute actively to department discussions in meeting 
  • Create, organise and modify programmes of study for specific Grades 
  • Contribute to and plan after-school activities as required 
  • Participate in arrangements for further training and professional development as a teacher 

  

Position Requirements: 

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area and recognised teaching qualification or license 

Experience: A minimum of three years’ teaching experience, previous middle leadership experience preferred 

Competencies: A sound understanding of the relevant curriculum, leadership and mentoring skills.

History of Taaleem

The origins of Taaleem began in 2004 when Beacon Education, a school management company was set up to develop and run high quality education projects. Beacon Education was created to meet the need for top-quality schools as the region’s population continues to grow.

Our first schools opened in September 2005 and two years later, His Excellency Nasser Hassan Al-Shaikh, Chairman of the Board of Taaleem, spearheaded a major ongoing investment in Beacon Education by National Bonds, a Dubai-based private joint stock company with around 50% ownership by the Government of Dubai.
