St Edward's Oxford is looking for a flexible and goal-orientated individual to join our Catering Department as a Kitchen Porter.
This is a varied role which will require you to work across the pot wash area, food delivery areas, stores and kitchen, providing an effective and flexible service to the Catering Department. You will assist with the preparation of food and with the cleaning of all areas and heavy equipment. Additional service, clearing and kitchen duties will also be required, including plate wash and the checking and unpacking of deliveries.
Our Catering Department manages a diverse event calendar which includes charity balls, boarding house dinners, fine dining and catering for sports and summer schools. You will work to meet the requirements of the catering-related school policies and procedures to ensure the expectations of all our customers are met.
You will possess strong verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work as part of a team and independently when required. A Level 2 Food Safety Hygiene qualification is essential, but all role holders will receive training in the first month of their employment. You will also need a basic understanding of relevant Health and Safety principles, whilst previous experience in a catering role is desirable, but not essential.
