We are seeking to appoint a talented an enthusiastic KS2 Science Teacher to teach Science to children in Year 4-6. They will also lead Science throughout our school. The successful candidate ideally will have primary classroom experience but may be a secondary Science teacher looking to move into Prep Schools. The successful candidate ideally will have primary classroom experience, hold a degree level qualification, QTS and be an inspirational and ambitious science practitioner. The candidate should provide high quality, exciting learning experiences for pupils, appropriate to their age and stage of development, ensuring excellent academic progress, and to be responsible for pupils’ care, wellbeing and happiness in line with the school vision, ethos and aims.
Reporting to: Head, Deputy Head
Hours, Salary & Benefits:
Hours: Part time, permanent role (Monday to Wednesday). With the expectation that you will work at least 8:00am – 4:00pm daily with one night a week until 5:30pm and a weekly staff meeting until 5pm if this falls in the days you work Additional meetings as required.
Salary: £19,954.20 - £24,435.00 dependent on experience

Person Specification:
Education and Qualifications
Essential:
- Degree level qualification and QTS
Desirable:
- Experience teaching primary phase
- Paediatric First Aid Qualification
Specialist Knowledge and Skills
Essential:
- A clear understanding of EYFS Framework/ National Curriculum, and its application
- Secure understanding of effective teaching strategies to enable all children to succeed
- Ability to monitor, assess, record and report on pupils’ progress
- Understanding of data and its importance in driving standards in attainment and prioritising next steps
- Understanding of effective strategies for maintaining high standards of discipline within the classroom and in accordance with the School’s policy
- An understanding of equality of opportunity issues and how they can be addressed in schools
- An understanding of safeguarding and health & safety best practice in education, and the need to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils
Desirable:
- Experience of developing others to deliver outstanding lessons
- Experience of having designed and implemented effective imaginative and stimulating schemes of work
- Experience of leading successful enrichment activities that inspire children and a love of all aspects of Science

Founded by Angela Culley in 1987, the school has grown and developed from an initial twelve children to over two hundred today.
