We recognize that our teachers are what differentiate us and we have ensured that through our move to a brand-new school just two years ago that staff have an environment that will enable them to flourish. Specialist facilities include a dance/drama studio, a beautiful well-stocked library with views over Hackney Downs Park, bespoke art and cookery teaching rooms, an outdoor science lab and a roped climbing wall as well as state-of-the-art, comfortable classrooms.
We are looking to recruit, for September 2022, an enthusiastic and skilled KS2 teacher who can support our children to achieve their full potential and transition with confidence to secondary education. We encourage all potential candidates to book in with the Headteacher for an online visit or in-person tour of the school / informal chat prior to application. Current experience of teaching the National Curriculum in a UK school is essential.
We foster curiosity, creativity, collaboration, drive and bravery as our core values in both our staff and our students. We believe that hiring and retaining the best teachers who embody those characteristics are a prerequisite to high achievement from happy children who feel safe and supported to explore learning and developing their talents. We take care to create a friendly, stimulating, team-oriented work environment. And while our staff work hard, the Nightingale style is supportive, warm and welcoming. Feel free to arrange a visit to see the Nightingale difference for yourself.

About Nightingale Primary School
Nightingale Primary School has recently moved into a state-of-the-art new building in the heart of Hackney Central. Close to the vibrant areas of Lower Clapton Road and Stoke Newington, our school has proudly served our local community for over 40 years. At Nightingale we value our staff and have thoughtfully built in to the new building's design features that make this a pleasant place to work. From the changing rooms and showers that allow staff to cycle or run to work, to the well-resourced PPA room and roof-top terrace for al-fresco lunches, working here combines the modern facilities of a job in the city, with the knowledge that you are making a real difference in the lives of our children. Our climbing wall is open to staff after school hours, as well as being used with our children.
We work creatively in all that we do and value learning beyond the classroom through our extensive programme of trips and visits. We also hugely value learning beyond the core subjects, for example with our outstanding provision for music, art and PE. We love to sing at Nightingale and all children are given access to free or subsidised instrumental tuition. We have specialist classrooms for art, drama, PE and cookery. We have all new ICT hardware including Chromebooks for accessing Google Classroom. All teachers are given a laptop and ipad mini and all classrooms are equipped with a brand-new promethean whiteboard. Light airy spaces with views across Hackney Downs Park bring the outside in and consequently our school has a calm and pleasant feel.
