As a Laboratory Technician at our school, you will play a crucial role in supporting teaching staff in the practical delivery of the curriculum. Working closely with Science Teachers and the Head of Department, you will help create an engaging and safe environment for scientific exploration and discovery.

The Successful Candidate Will Be:

• A dedicated advocate for science education, ensuring students are inspired and equipped to explore scientific concepts confidently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing materials and practicals for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology lessons across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.
• Providing hands-on support to students during their practical activities.
• Preparing and maintaining records of risk assessments.
• Monitoring and servicing laboratory equipment and materials regularly.
• Supervising Health and Safety in the laboratories to ensure a safe learning environment.

Qualifications: 

·       A certified UK relevant qualification, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent (PGCE/PGDE must be accompanied by a subject relevant Bachelor’s Degree).

Successful applicants must have:

·       Exceptional relevant knowledge, with extensive experience of the British curriculum.

·       Passion about practical work in the laboratory. 

·       Experience of working in a school laboratory or preparation room.

·       Flexible and innovative approach to working.   

·       Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.

·       A mindset which understands all students have the potential for top performance and the drive and passion to enable them to do so.

Desirable qualities:

• Experience of teaching or supporting students with English as an Additional Language.
• Experience in an international school setting. 
• Familiarity with integrating technology into laboratory practices.

Important notes:

Greek Applicants - You must hold a relevant degree and have completed the registry of teachers for private schools (Epetirida), or hold the qualifications to do so. Please note that international qualifications are not recognised as qualified teacher status for Greek candidates within Greece.

International Applicants - You must hold a relevant Degree from the same country as your passport. You must also hold a relevant teaching qualification (QTS with completed NQT or equivalent) again from the country of your passport. Please note that the iPGCE is not currently recognised in Greece & Language Qualifications such as TESOL & DELTA are not accepted.
