Values and vision

Co-op Academy Failsworth's main focus is the achievement and happiness of all students. The school wants pupils to reach their full academic and personal potential, and works to help them discover and develop their individual skills and talents so that they leave as fulfilled, successful and confident young adults ready for the challenges and opportunities of a modern and a ever-changing society. Community is at the heart of the school and parents are encouraged to get involved and play an active, present role in their children’s education, enabling all students to benefit from a strong support system both in class and during their home lives. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered to all pupils across the year groups, allowing for them to get involved in clubs outside of the classroom and benefit from new experiences, meeting new people and enhancing their skills and interests. These include sports clubs, photography lessons, choir practice and rock band.

Ofsted

"Much of teaching is now good"

"The leadership team, with strong support from the   Interim Executive Board (IEB) and the Local Authority, have embedded a clear   vision and ambition for the future of Failsworth School."

"Pupils behave appropriately around the building, where they are unfailingly polite and respectful"

"Pupils who met with inspectors were of the view that in many classes work was now harder, questioning more challenging and the marking and feedback they received more helpful."

Ofsted recognised "The school is popular with the local community. It is oversubscribed and the great majority of parents and carers who completed a school parental survey were supportive of the school and its leadership."
