Job overview

Thetford Grammar School is proud of its history as a seat of learning stretching back over 1400 years. Today, we are a 3-19 day and boarding school that achieves excellent outcomes for pupils at every stage of their education.

We gain outstanding results at GCSE and A level as a product of bright, hard-working pupils, passionate and talented staff, small class sizes and close relationships between school and home.

We require from October 2024 a Lead Teacher of Computer Science, for a full-time, permanent position. The ability and willingness to teach to GCSE and A level will be essential. We are a small all-through day and boarding school where Computer Science is highly regarded and take-up at GCSE and A level is very good. Grades in Computer Science at GCSE and A level always remain high with many students taking the subjects at degree level.

Requirements:

  • The ability to teach Computer Science to GCSE and A level, and to coordinate Computer Science at Keystage 3.
  • The ability to offer a second subject would be desirable, but not a requirement.

This would not be suitable for an ECT but would be suitable for a teacher looking for their first steps in leadership.

As a school we run a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities for the student body and there is an expectations that the candidate would become involved with all aspects of extra-curricular and boarding life at Thetford Grammar School.
