Job overview

We are excited to be seeking to appoint to a brand new role within our growing and progressive academy.  This split role of Learning Mentor and Assistant SENDCo will be a high profile and crucial role within our popular and friendly academy.

We welcome applications from individuals who care about people, can form strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues and are looking to develop this role. They will be relentless in their drive to overcome any barriers for our pupils, ensuring that they all have the opportunity to thrive and belong.

The purpose of this dual role is to enhance provision and support for pupils with a range of SEND across the academy alongside our SENCO. The successful candidate will develop effective ways to overcome barriers to children’s learning. The role is integral in enhancing our already inclusive provision.

You must be able to:

  • Support an engaging and inclusive learning environment for our pupils and their families
  • Work effectively with colleagues and multi-agency teams
  • Be highly motivated, enthusiastic and skilled in using a range of interventions and assessments
  • Be committed to creating opportunities to enable young people to thrive
  • Communicate to very high standards and possess the ability to work effectively on your own initiative as well as under the direction of colleagues
  • Be able to build excellent relationships with pupils and parents

What we offer:

  • Excellent opportunities for personal and career development within the Co-op Academies Trust;
  • Employee benefits such as retail discounts, cycle to work scheme and much more;
  • Free access to a confidential 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme;
  • Effective, supportive and dynamic leadership;
  • A superb school building with a flexible and creative ICT rich working environment;
  • The opportunity to work alongside a welcoming, friendly, highly experienced and supportive team.

Our pupils deserve someone who will nurture and care for them whilst offering high quality interventions and personalised support.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.  To arrange a school visit or for further information about this post please contact Mrs Emma Day at  emma.day@coopacademies.co.uk or telephone on 01782 881480.

Closing date for application is Friday 15th November at 12 noon

Interviews will take place during the w.c. 25th November 2024
