Learning Support Assistant

As the centre enters an exciting period of growth and development, it is looking for a talented individual who is passionate about delivering the very best experience to young people.

We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our successful team on a full-time, permanent basis.

 

Responsibilities

You will be working with students who have special educational needs and your ability to develop trusting relationships is critical to this role. This role will require you to follow process but also use your initiative with the demands of the student environment. An interest in teaching and a desire to improve these student’s lives is essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a strong understanding of supporting SEN in the classroom and is able to demonstrate the wide range of needs students have in an FE setting that affects the achievement of goals.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

You will be emotional resilience and motivated by challenge and have a passion to make a real difference to the education and lives of young people. Your classroom and behavioural management skills will be strong and you will have the ability to work with students who have a wide range of emotional and physical needs.

To be successful you must have at least GCSE in English and Maths to grade C or above, or a recognised equivalent qualification (FS L2), and current skill levels at L2 in Literacy, Language and Numeracy. You will hold a minimum of a Level 3 subject qualification and a City & Guilds 9297 Cert in Adult Learning Support or be working towards completing this.
