Do you have experience of supporting young people with SEND needs or are you a recent graduate who enjoys supporting other students?

We’re seeking caring, pro-active, and motivated individuals to join our teams across the Luminate Education Group as Learning Support Assistants. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a rewarding role, particularly for those considering a career in education, wellbeing, or related fields.

We can offer part-time and full-time roles across 3 of our Leeds City Campus’ – Printworks, Park Lane and Quarry Hill as part of the central SEND & High Needs team.

What you will do:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students, helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and personally. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and students, providing tailored assistance to individuals or small groups to enable their learning and engagement.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with Education Health Care & Plans ( EHCP’s).
  • Assisting in lesson delivery and helping students stay on track with learning objectives.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Offering pastoral support and acting as a role model for students.
  • Liaising with teachers and other staff to ensure effective communication regarding student progress.
  • Providing one-to-one support to several individual students.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Caring, empathetic and committed.
  • Able to build rapport with students and staff from a range of backgrounds.
  • Patient, proactive, and dedicated to supporting students with varied needs.
  • Eager to develop your skills and gain experience in an educational setting.
  • Has a strong interest in education and SEND.

While prior experience working with individuals with SEND needs is desirable, it is not essential as support and CPD training will be provided.
