Plumberow Primary Academy is a large three form entry primary academy in Hockley. We are a welcoming academy situated in a lovely setting, which is well resourced and has fantastic children and supportive parents.
During our recent (June 2018) inspection Ofsted graded Plumberow Good in all areas. Attainment is high and the academy is proud of the outstanding behaviour of its learners.
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our team to provide support to individual children or a small group under the direction of the teaching staff. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for establishing positive relationships with the pupils supported, implementing planned learning objectives/teaching programmes as agreed with the class teacher, and adjusting activities according to the pupils' response.
In addition, you will support the pupils with activities that develop their Literacy and Numeracy skills and support the use of ICT in the classroom/ICT suite, developing the pupils' competence and independence in its use. You will promote positive pupil behaviour in line with school policies and help keep pupils on task.
The successful candidate will have experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting. You will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively with others. You will be committed to promoting inclusion and diversity within the classroom, and you will be able to adapt your approach to meet the needs of each individual pupil.
