LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANTS

17 – 32 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks per year)

Salary Scale H3 (Actual Salary £9,408 - £17,709 per annum)

This exciting role is suitable for someone wishing to gain classroom experience. Experience in working with students with a range of abilities is desirable but not essential as we have an extensive training programme for newcomers to the role. We have an excellent track record of supporting graduates to progress onto teacher training, if appropriate

The role involves working with students and staff to maximise learning opportunities for all students, supporting students in the classroom and helping deliver intervention programmes. 

The admissions policy prioritises children of staff in accordance with the admission arrangements.

Watford Grammar School for Boys is an academy with over 1400 students, including over 400 in the sixth form. From its origins as a charity school for 60 pupils founded by Dame Elizabeth Fuller in 1704, the boys’ school moved to its present site in 1912 and became an Academy in 2010. Located next to the centre of Watford, near Cassiobury Park, it comprises of a Grade II listed building, The Clarendon Muse, The James Theatre, a dedicated STEM Centre and extensive sports facilities.
