About Lingfield College
Lingfield College is a vibrant and highly successful independent day school for children aged 0–18 years, located in the Surrey countryside on the Kent and Sussex borders, just 30 minutes from London. With approximately 900 pupils from Nursery to Sixth Form, it is the ideal size; small enough that all pupils are known and valued as individuals, but large enough to offer fantastic facilities, a wide-ranging curriculum and extensive learning opportunities. In 2017 Lingfield College was rated as ‘Excellent in all areas’ by the ISI.
The School's holistic approach to education blends academic excellence, supportive pastoral care and a rich programme of co-curricular opportunities to inspire, motivate and nurture every pupil. Set within beautiful 40-acre grounds, our excellent facilities and bright modern classrooms across both the Prep School and Senior School allow pupils to explore a huge range of academic, sporting, creative and extra-curricular activities. The School has enjoyed an ambitious programme of capital development, including the addition of new playgrounds at the Prep School, and a comprehensive refurbishment of the Foundation Stage classrooms in 2022, along with the addition of a new baby room in 2023 and the enhancement of sporting facilities at the Senior School.
As a school, we are forward-thinking and aspirational in our learning but thoughtful and grounded in our approach. Pastoral care is central to life at Lingfield. Being an all-through school creates a welcoming family atmosphere, providing a nurturing, enjoyable and enriching educational experience for all.
Our broad and challenging curriculum is characterised by outstanding teaching by specialists. Exceptional progress is made at the School, and we consistently achieve excellent exam results well above the national average, but more important than grades is the knowledge that individual students have been encouraged and challenged to reach the best outcomes for their abilities.
With a strong reputation, sport plays a fundamental role at Lingfield, promoting physical health alongside teamwork, communication and resilience. Pupils have access to an enviable range of sporting activities in which every child is encouraged to participate. There are many opportunities for pupils to represent the School across a wide range of sports through an extensive fixture list at a local, regional and national level.
Our staff are hard-working and caring professionals with a high level of expertise. They are proud to work at Lingfield and support our aim to provide an educational experience of the highest quality and are dedicated to getting the very best out of every pupil.
"The pupils’ personal development is nurtured and supported in a school that considers the character of the whole person to be as important as their academic achievement. Throughout the School pupils develop into charming and confident young people with a strong sense of self-worth and a natural sense of their place in the world, without any sense of entitlement."
