Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer to join our Construction team based at our Woodlands campus teaching Level 1 City and Guilds Carpentry and Multi Skills courses.
Candidates will be qualified to Level 2 in Carpentry and have industry experience. In addition to this, applicants should ideally have teaching experience and hold, or be prepared to work towards, a Level 5 teaching qualification. An assessor qualification would be desirable.
If you are new to teaching or have taught under 5 years you may be eligible for the levelling up payment. In addition, if you do not already possess a teaching qualification we will provide you with a reduced teaching timetable, in order to undertake a mentored programme of teaching skills development including funding for a professional teaching qualification. If you are an experienced Electrical Installation professional with an interest in developing tradespeople of the future, then we would love to hear from you. Click Targeted retention incentive payments for FE teachers - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) for more information.
For the next stage in the process, you will be required to attend the College’s premises, unless exceptional circumstances apply.
Solihull College & University Centre is committed to ensuring a safe environment for all students and expects all staff to engage fully with this commitment.
