About the department:
Put simply, we’re at the forefront of delivering modern engineering courses. We have superbly-equipped workshops and specialist rooms at our purpose-built Castleford Campus, for courses in mechanical engineering, engineering maintenance, electrical and electronic engineering, plant engineering, fabrications and welding. We also have strong links with industry on a regional and international level, and employers are keen to attend the College and provide talks on their company and job opportunities.
Wakefield College has also invested heavily in developing an Advanced Skills and Innovation Centre (ASIC), which is a purpose Higher Education learning environment that will transform skills training in the District, and Engineering will have a significant presence there.
All in all, it’s a fantastic place to learn for students, and a great place to come and work.
About the role:
It’s a typical lecturing role where we’ll expect you to be fully committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure our students achieve their full potential. Specifically, you’ll share your knowledge and experience of electrical or electronic engineering on a range of engineering courses to Level 3.

If you’re passionate about your industry, are motivated and can inspire others, and you have an excellent track record of planning and delivering education or training, then you’ll fit right in. You’ll also need to hold electric or electronic vocational qualifications, or NVQ3 (or equivalent), as well as a good standard of education to include English and Maths qualifications (GCSE level).
Don’t worry if you haven’t got your teaching certificate, as Wakefield College will support your professional development through its Programme of Excellence.
Salaries up to £33,554 p.a. or Market Forces payment options could be accessible for a fully qualified, suitably experienced/exceptional candidate. This can be discussed at interview.
