The Exciting Role 

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Lecturer in Sport

You will join an excellent team of professional in delivering sports programmes at levels 2 and 3. The division has an established track record of success, and you will be supported in developing your own teaching and learning practice through our “Be Phenomenal” programme of staff development.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at the Accrington and Rossendale Campus but may be required to travel across sites.

This post could suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge, or a newly qualified teacher looking to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Teaching on a range of programmes, delivering effective learning for students in the Sports department
  • Planning and preparing high quality teaching and learning
  • Developing and sharing resources for the course/subject
  • Completing required assessments in relation to student assignments

What We Are Looking For:

  • An enthusiastic team player
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • ​Successful teaching experience (ideally on Pearson BTEC) with a background in delivery of Level 3 RQF subjects or Level 2 Fitness qualifications would be advantageous.
  • ​Degree level qualification or appropriate professional qualification (or equivalent level of experience)

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
