The Exciting Role 

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for two Motor Vehicle Lecturers to join our student-focused team. We would particularly like to speak to candidates with experience of delivering on the Motor Vehicle T-Level qualification.

This role has a market premium payment attached of up to £5,000 per annum approved for three years in the first instance. This is for candidates who have the experience of delivering on the Motor Vehicle T-Level qualification. However, we would also welcome applications from candidates who do not have this experience, as there is more than one role available. 

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Accrington & Rossendale College but may be required to travel across sites.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • For candidates with relevant experience, have specific responsibility for developing the T-Level in Light and Electric Vehicle curriculum and developing employer relationships to support industry placements. 
  • Teach on other Motor Vehicle programmes as required (Entry level to Level 3)
  • Be up to date, plan and prepare high-quality teaching as required by your Line Manager
  • Develop and share resources for the subject including maintaining effective links across College for resources
  • Regularly assess students in order to track and monitor progress

What We Are Looking For:

  • 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
  • Minimum level 3 qualification in a related subject
  • Recognised teaching and assessor qualification or a willingness to achieve this within three years of appointment
  • A higher degree or advanced qualification
  • Assessor and Verifier Qualifications

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
