You will be an experienced practitioner who secures success through the use of innovative approaches that enthuse and engage students. You will demonstrate excellence in teaching, learning and assessment and have a proven track record of this. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective organisation and leadership skills that are necessary for ensuring our trainee teachers and students reach their academic and career aspirations.
Applicants for this post must have a commitment to leading and delivering outstanding teaching and learning. The department requires a practitioner that has a proven track record in delivering outstanding results and a vision for contributing to a curriculum that offers a unique learning experience.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time.
Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
