I am delighted you are considering an application to join the team of staff at Childwall Sports and Science Academy: part of the Lydiate Learning Trust.

Here at Childwall Academy it is paramount that our children are happy, safe and enjoying their learning. Childwall is an ambitious Academy with high standards and an excellent reputation for the care and support offered to all. We are a diverse community where difference is embraced, encouraged and celebrated. Leaders are very proud that we are a popular school that continues to grow and improve in all areas.

I’m enormously proud that we achieved an Ofsted ‘Good’ rating in all aspects in May 2022. Our students and staff always work incredibly hard, and it is excellent to have their achievements recognised by Ofsted. Leaders were recognised for ‘working hard to improve the quality of education that pupils receive’ and introducing a ‘broad and ambitious curriculum for all pupils’.  Ofsted observed that ‘Pupils are happy at school. They value the diverse community and welcoming ethos of the school.’

Strong leadership across the school and the Trust ensures that our passion to provide the very best education possible for all our students is pursued every day. Learning without limits is important to us at Childwall. Each member of staff within the school are very aware that they contribute to the foundations and success of your child’s future.

As Head Teacher, I am passionate that the Academy is an engaging and vibrant learning hub for all. Under my leadership the school empowers individuals of all ages to learn and lead through the many positive experiences we provide. We are excited to continue our improvements and strive for excellence in all areas. We commit to all aspects of learning and reading for pleasure is an important part of our expectation and development. Our comprehensive, well planned, well researched, curriculum enables our students from Year 7 to Year 13 to make informed choices in their future beyond Childwall Academy.

All subjects are important within our Academy and we are very proud that our students go on to study or train in a wide range of specialisms, such as Medicine, Music and Midwifery. Our aim is for all our students to be confident in their own abilities, formulating high levels of subject knowledge alongside being well-rounded individuals who are competent in the social skills of perseverance, proficiency and integrity.
