We are seeking to fill 1 full time positions for the role of Maintenance Handyperson, to join our team based at Worth School. The role is operating across a diverse portfolio of buildings and assets. During term time the role is predominantly reactive maintenance allocated via the helpdesk, with small works projects taking place during the holiday periods. You will also be required to be involved in certain compliance activities; however full training will be provided.

As the Maintenance Handyperson, your responsibilities would include:

  • Carry out reactive repairs and scheduled maintenance to the building fabric and fittings.
  • Provide progress updates and feedback in a timely manner via the helpdesk.
  • Carry out compliance activities, including fire alarm testing, fire drills, water systems management, ladder checks etc. (full training will be provided). 
  • Escalate areas of concern to the maintenance team leader.
  • Attend all relevant training. 
  • Coordinate with contractors as required to deliver works around the estate.
  •  Use appropriate PPE for the work being undertaken and work within H&S guidance.

  • Previous experience in a school (desirable)
