Job overview

This is an important new role within the school's business support team that has come available at a fascinating time for our school. We have a strong management and leadership team in place and have developed this role to strengthen the work we are doing to better meet the opportunities and challenges facing the education sector at present.

To be able to continue to effectively support our pupils' needs, the school is seeking to recruit an experienced and professional marketing and communications specialist who has a passion for storytelling, knows how to segment markets and differentiate clear messages to different audiences. This role is wide ranging and will be working across a number of different school functions as well as helping to curate our online and in print content and drive the school marketing and communication activity.

This role would suit someone who thrives on working as part of a multi-disciplined team, being accountable for their own defined workstreams, enjoys development and challenging themselves professionally and who will strive every day to improve the quality of what we do so that we can provide the best possible service to our pupils, their parents/carers as well as colleagues and our wider stakeholders.

Working in a school with over 300 children with additional needs will offer our successful candidate a very rare opportunity to work within a setting, where they will see the impact of their work on a daily basis. The profound, life changing and transformative positive impact their work has will provide a type of intrinsic job satisfaction that is difficult to find elsewhere.

If you want to work in an authentic, child-centred, stable professional working environment that promotes high standards for our pupils and places a very high importance on staff wellbeing, then we may be a good fit for you.

Marjory Kinnon School is one of the country’s largest SEND schools. Since having moved into a new purpose built school building in 2018 the school has doubled in size. A well performing school, MKS provides education to 330 pupils between the age of 4 and 16, many of whom have ASC as their primary diagnosed need.

We are a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated, knowledgeable and creativity professionals, over 200 in number, working collaboratively to effectively support every single child in the way they need. Our vision is that every pupil leaves our school having learnt the skills and develop the confidence needed to become a valued, integrated and independent member of their community. We are always keen to hear from other professionals who have a desire to work in a SEND setting. Please do get in touch if you would like to come and have a look or just want to find out more about us.
