The City of Liverpool College is the only general FE college in the city and the largest FE college in Liverpool City Region.

It offers the widest, most diverse vocational curriculum in the region and ranges from entry up to degree and post-graduate levels and currently serves more than a third of all the 16-18 year olds in Liverpool and educates almost 12,000 learners each year, with all courses being delivered to the highest standard of learning.

Staff at The City of Liverpool College are fundamental to help ensure the students at the college enjoy an experience like no other through gaining skills and being taught a diversity-rich curriculum which leaves students equipped with all they need to be successful, both in their chosen career and beyond.

The Role

We are currently recruiting an exceptional Maths teacher to join our Foundation Studies team at the City of Liverpool College. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is passionate about delivering outstanding education to our students. As a teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality instruction to Functional Skills and GCSE students studying Maths. Your key responsibilities will involve creating and implementing engaging and current curriculum, guaranteeing that students acquire the essential knowledge and skills to excel in their studies.

Responsible to: Assistant Dean of Foundation Studies.

Opened in 1992 after being formed from a number of colleges in the city we now have 5 locations situated in the heart of Liverpool. Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.

However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options. 

Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.
