Secondary IB Mathematics Teacher

We are seeking an outstanding Mathematics teacher to join our growing Secondary school in January 2025.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Mathematics teacher - experience in teaching Physics or Economics would be a strong extra value.

Experience of teaching at IBDiploma level is highly desirable. We are looking for someone who is passionate about international education, creative in their thinking and collaborative in their approach. The successful candidate will also be adaptable, motivated by challenge and an excellent, highly organised classroom practitioner.

Qualifications:

• University Degree in the subject

• Full secondary teaching qualifications;

• Proficiency in English and other language/s.

• Excellent understanding of the demands of IGCSE’s/IB examinations, ensuring that students are very well prepared to take these and any entrance requirements for their next phase of education;

• Experience teaching Maths and Physics or Economics at DP level;

• Personal competences:

• Excellent knowledge of the subjects;

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Commitment to fostering a multicultural and inclusive learning environment.


ICS Milan is a highly successful international school in Milan for children from 2-18 (currently 2-17) and part of the Globeducate school group 

The school adopts a STEAM approach to learning, using Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics as access points for building student enquiry, critical thinking and exploring a child’s creative mind. It gives exposure to project-based learning, hand on experience to learn various fundamental motor skills and help children develop analytical skills required for problem solving.

We offer a stimulating learning journey which is defined by a rich and well-structured curriculum. In Early Years we follow The British Early Years Foundation Stage. In Primary, we follow The Primary School follows the Cambridge Primary Programme, covering English and maths, and The IPC -International Primary Curriculum, covering the topic-based subjects (science, social studies, geography, history, art and international mindedness). We are currently exploring the PYP to complement our IB MYP programme in Years 7-11 and the IB Diploma in Years 12 and 13 ( starting September 2023)

As a Paritaria school, we incorporate National recommendations for the curriculum as established by the Italian Ministry of Education for the Italian language and culture programme. All children in the Primary school learn Italian, either as a first or second language and integrating Italian education and culture is a key strength of the school.

Curriculum

ICS Milan offers a stimulating learning journey which is defined by a rich and well-structured curriculum that integrates the following frameworks:

EARLY YEARS

  • The British Early Years Foundation Stage, a play-based framework, featuring the learning and development goals for young children from birth to five years.


PRIMARY SCHOOL

  • The Cambridge Primary Programme, covering English and maths.
  • The IPC - International Primary Curriculum, covering the topic-based subjects (science, social studies, geography, history, art and international mindedness).
  • National recommendations for the curriculum as established by the Italian Ministry of Education for the Italian language and culture programme. In the 2016/17 academic year, ICS Milan was granted officially recognised school status (parità).


SECONDARY SCHOOL

ICS Secondary School has been designed to offer the IB Programme of the International Baccalaureate:

  • Middle Years Programme for students from 11 to 16 years old.
  • IB Diploma programme 17-18 years old.


As a Scuola Paritaria, our students have the flexibility to move between the Italian and international curriculum, opting to complete the Scuola Media and sit the Licenza Media exams with us, and move back to the Italian system for Liceo, or, to continue with us to complete their Scuola Superiore studies in 4 years alongside the IB, MYP and DP.
