Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and highly motivated individual to teach Maths in a unique independent school that is rated Good by OFSTED.
Brighton and Hove Clinic School is based on the same site as Brighton and Hove Clinic, a specialist eating disorder service for young people aged 11-18.
Our hospital school offers a highly personalised full-time study programme at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 so that young people can continue to study subjects chosen at their home school or college, and we provide a comprehensive transition programme to support the reintegration to a young person’s home school or a new education placement upon discharge.
Young people are admitted and discharged throughout the academic year and the anticipated length of stay is between 16 and 30 weeks, however, this is dependent on each young person’s presentation and some admissions have lasted for up to one year.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for leading and developing a bespoke Maths curriculum across all key stages, and will demonstrate effective teaching by creating relevant, engaging and challenging plans to enable young people to build their knowledge and skills so that they are able to progress.
The ability to teach an additional subject would be an advantage.
This is an extremely rewarding and versatile role, perfect for a fully qualified, dynamic and resilient teacher who has experience of planning to meet the needs of individuals, across all ability ranges including those with SEND.
You will be joining an enthusiastic, friendly, and well qualified small team of staff who work closely with the hospital team to make an enormous difference to young peoples’ lives.
Benefits
- The opportunity to contribute towards a personalised curriculum that meets the needs of the individual learner
- Standard school holiday entitlement
- Free onsite meals
- Wellbeing support and activities
- Career development and training
- The chance to work in a small and friendly team
We expect all candidates to share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and all posts are subject to our stringent recruitment checks.
