Job Title:     Maths Teacher 

Location:         Hillingdon Manor School, Uxbridge

Salary:       Up to £45,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience) 

Hours:       37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday 

Contract:         Permanent, Term Time only

We are looking for a Maths Teacher to join our fantastic team at Hillingdon Manor School in Uxbridge. As the Maths Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises children’s achievement and ability to develop.

This is a great opportunity for a Maths Teacher who wants to spend less time on paperwork and more time developing creative learning opportunities for children with varied and complex needs. Previous experience of working in an SEN/ASC environment would be highly desirable along with excellent teaching skills, the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.

Educated to Qualified Teacher Status or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills and Nationally recognised degree, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative teaching style, motivated by helping every child reach their potential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Work with the rest of the Maths department to implement engaging Maths curricula that cater to the diverse learning needs of students with ASD.
  • Teaching Excellence: Deliver high-quality Maths lessons, employing a range of teaching strategies to enhance understanding and foster a love for learning.
  • Assessment and Progress Tracking: Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development and achievement.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Maths teachers and support staff, promoting best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to create an inclusive learning environment that supports the holistic development of each student.
  • Parental Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of their child’s progress and involving them in the learning process.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest educational practices and contribute to staff training sessions to enhance the skills of the teaching team.


About us

At Hillingdon Manor, we provide specialist education for 279 pupils, aged between 3.5 and 19. Located across two sites. You will be based at our secondary school , which has around 146 pupils. Our pupils are taught in smaller classes and all work towards various qualifications depending on their needs and ability from AQA Unit Awards, Entry level Qualifications, Functional Skills and GCSE. This role will have responsibility for teaching pupils who are aged 11 - 19, but work at a variety of different levels, so we welcome applications from teachers with Primary level SEN experience.
