Responsible for all reception duties at the MBH site

Key Responsibilities:
- Answering the telephone promptly and professionally
- Fielding telephone calls as appropriate
- Acting as front of house for all visitors to Mary Bennett House
- Taking delivery of mail and distributing accordingly
- Ensuring visitors are signed in and registered at Reception in accordance with
Surbiton High School’s security measures - Providing refreshments to visitors when required
- Liaising with the main reception desk to ensure both sites are working collaboratively
- Logging and distributing personal items to students as and when they require (i.e. temporary uniform measures)
- Assisting parents, pupils and staff with ad hoc queries
- Assisting with any such functions which take place at Mary Bennett House
- Providing administrative support to staff as directed by the Senior Administrator
- Undertaking all other duties as may reasonably be required
The successful candidate will be likely to fit the following profile:
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
- Professional telephone manner
- High standards of personal presentation
- A warm and approachable manner
- Personal and professional integrity and the ability to be discreet
- Competent ICT user, proficient in the use of word processing, spread sheet, database information systems and presentation software applications
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and to manage a heavy workload effectively, responding to both proactive and reactive demands
- A proactive and flexible approach
- Receptionist experience is desirable
