Dipont Huayao Collegiate School Kunshan is seeking a Middle School Creative Design and Innovation Teacher to join its diverse, enthusiastic and highly supportive community of teachers, working in a beautifully appointed and state of the art campus.
The Middle School Creative Design & Innovation (CDI) teacher leads an applied and integrated skills and subject program that spans multiple disciplines such as the arts, science, mathematics, engineering, and computer science. Scholars learn design thinking and other skills through authentic Project Based Learning (PBL) experiences including: architecture (Grade 7,) digital design (Grade 8,) and product design (Grade 9.) The process begins with a driving question. It is followed by a general introduction to the background of the problem related to the theme. It culminates with using tools from the design discipline to solve the problem. Scholars are assessed on their use and application of 21st century skills such as: critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, problem solving and independent learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver design thinking and innovation lessons integrating robotics, programming, 3D design, and AR/VR.
- Teach students how to design, build, and program robotic systems using platforms such as LEGO Mindstorms, VEX Robotics, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi.
- Utilize tools like CAD software, 3D printers, and AR/VR platforms to create immersive and engaging learning experiences.
- Introduce students to coding concepts (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or block-based coding) to control robots, create interactive designs, and build AR/VR applications.
- Foster an inclusive environment where students feel empowered to experiment, take risks, and embrace failure as part of the learning process.
- Lead or support robotics clubs, coding competitions, hackathons, and design showcases.
- Encourage student participation in national and international robotics and innovation competitions.

This is Dipont’s third independent school project, following the successful establishment of RDFZ King’s College School Hangzhou and Nanwai King’s College School Wuxi. The campus in Kunshan is nearing completion and, at capacity, will provide an outstanding learning environment for 2,800 scholars and feature state-of-the-art laboratories, a performing arts center with an 800 seat theater and first-class sports complexes.
The school is enrolling students for September 2020 and opening up a range of teaching positions from preschool to 10th grade.
