Minibus Driver at John Port Spencer Academy

Salary: NJC point 4 (£11.01 per hour)

Part Time and Permanent: Flexible and casual employment

Start Date: As soon as possible

John Port Spencer Academy is looking for a reliable Minibus Driver who will be employed on a casual basis to drive the academy minibus as and when required. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• To drive the Academy Minibus as and when required. 
• To ensure children and staff are transported safely. 
• Daily maintenance of vehicle i.e. checks on fuel, lights, tyres, oil and water levels. To drive the bus to and arrange delivery and collection of the bus for service appointments.
• To assist with the movement of children and young adults in and out of the vehicle where safe to do so.
• To ensure that the exterior and interior of the vehicle driven is maintained and left in a clean and tidy condition.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

• Full clean driving licence D1 entitlement or PSV 
• Experience of driving a Minibus or Similar 
• Proven knowledge and understanding of health and safety and ability to follow procedures and implement them daily
• Proven ability to use initiative and a common sense approach

Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

• MIDAS Training
• First Aid Certificate
• Experience of working with children
• Driver CPC
