JOB OVERVIEW

This role will focus on delivering a dynamic and balanced music education program within the frameworks of the IBMYP and IBDP, fostering creativity and excellence in students. The Music Teacher will play a pivotal part in inspiring learners, cultivating their musical talents, and contributing to a vibrant school community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Consistent with school policy, the successful Music Teacher will demonstrate the following key competencies:

●       Subject knowledge and methodological competence: Demonstrating the necessary subject knowledge and understanding of IBMYP and IBDP frameworks to effectively educate students.

●       Capacity to provide students with a balanced music program, including extra-curricular and additional activities in a safe learning environment.

●       Organizational: Creating a well-organized, orderly and creative learning environment. Planning and executing a balanced music program so that teaching and learning activities can be accomplished effectively.

●       Collaboration with colleagues: Making a professional contribution to fostering a professional learning community and to mutual collaboration.

●       Interpersonal: Creating an atmosphere of trust by dealing with students and colleagues in a positive and open manner.

●       Interaction with parents: Ensuring good communication and coordination with parents and others involved in the education and development of the students.

●       Reflection and development: Reflecting regularly on the development of personal and professional capabilities.

●       Technology literacy and incorporating skills in teaching and learning.

●       Other tasked assigned by Line Manager.

 

REQUIREMENTS

●       Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field

●       PGCE/QTS in Education and/or other related certificates

●       Successful experience in teaching is preferred

●       Experience in an international school environment is preferred

●       Evidence of continued relevant professional development

●       Excellent organizational skills

●       Excellent communicator in both spoken and written English

●       Independent, proactive and collegial by nature
