Rainbow International School is a coeducational 2 – 18 years day and boarding school in Kampala, Uganda. The Post:
We are seeking a young, dynamic, motivated Music teacher who is able to provide group music lessons within a classroom setting to our Secondary students (11 - 18 years). The successful candidate will be joining an established, busy and vibrant Performing Arts department. The ability to teach the theory of music as well as having a balance of playing classical and contemporary music instruments is essential. Previous experience in an International school is an advantage.
Experience:
- Be Should have a minimum of three years teaching experience, after acquiring a teaching degree/PGCE/PGDE/QTS, in the UK or overseas in a British curriculum school
- Have a proven track record of outstanding practice
- A good all-round music specialist
- Be able to engage, motivate and support children, colleagues and parents
- Be a reflective, flexible practitioner with the ability to think creatively and take risks
- Experience of working within effective teams and being an effective team player
- Have an advanced ability to play several musical instruments;
- Have a strong learning-focused philosophy;
- Previous leadership experience is an added advantage (middle leader, subject lead)
- A working knowledge of Google Apps and the confidence to work with IT in the classroom.
We require teachers who are:
- In possession of a minimum of three years teaching experience in the UK or overseas in a British curriculum school after acquiring B.Ed. or QTS
- Dedicated practitioners who strive to provide the very best learning opportunities they can for their students
