Job Summary
Are you passionate about teaching German in an inspiring international school environment? The Inter-Community School Zurich (ICS), the oldest international school in the Greater Zurich Area, invites applications for a dedicated MYP & DP German Language Acquisition Teacher to join our Secondary School team. Located just outside Zurich, ICS provides an enriching educational experience in a picturesque setting near the Zumikon Nature Reserve.
- Teach engaging MYP and DP German classes across various proficiency levels.
- Develop challenging and inclusive learning activities that cater to the diverse needs of all students.
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies with a focus on academic, social, and emotional learning.
- Integrate technology to support and enhance student learning.
- Provide both formative and summative assessments, with regular, proactive communication with students and parents on learning progress.
- Collaborate with the Head of Department and IB Coordinators to meet curriculum standards.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary projects, extra-curricular activities, and the student well-being programme.
The successful candidate will have:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in German Language Education or equivalent, with current teaching qualifications for secondary school.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant classroom experience, ideally within an international and/or IB setting.
- Skills: Strong English communication, classroom management, and organizational skills; adept at integrating technology for learning.
- Certifications: EDK recognition (or willingness to complete the process).
- Soft Skills: Adaptive, imaginative, empathetic, collaborative, mission-driven, and student-centered.

The ICS Inter-Community School, situated in Zürich, is a mainstream, mixed gender, all-through school located in Zurich. Established in 1960, the ICS now has over 800 students from 55 nationalities.
At the Primary School level The Inter-Community School covers the following subjects; Mathematics, Reading and Writing, The Arts, and Social Studies,
At the Middle and Secondary School levels, students of the Inter-Community School study English, German, Sciences, Mathematics, French, Spanish, Performing Arts, Design, and Physical Education.
